Central Hose House Renovation

The Historical Society of Idaho Springs is proud to announce that the Colorado State Historical Fund awarded funds of $187,806 toward the exterior renovation of the Central Hose House on Miner Street, one of Idaho Springs’ historic icons.

HSIS, in partnership with the City and the Idaho Springs Volunteer Fire Department, will renovate this structure, one of three in the city, to create a museum showcasing the incredible fire fighting equipment and historical photographs that tell a unique story. Renovation costs will be approximately $250,000.

As a thank you for your contribution of $100 or more, you will be invited to the Grand Opening and listed as a contributor.

For contributors of $1,000 or more, your name will be prominently recognized on the proposed donor wall at The Heritage Center and in publications planned to promote the project and an invitation to the Grand Opening.

The restoration of the Central Hose House is just one example of how your generous contribution to the Historical Society of Idaho Springs can support a specific project, one that you will find of great value and interest.

*This particular project offers a unique 25% Colorado state tax credit for cash contributions and 12.5% for in-kind contributions.

HSIS prepares and submits grants seeking funds to restore our heritage area’s historic landmarks. You can assist by designating your contributions to our Special Projects and grant writing efforts.
